I liked this stocking so much that I bought 2, 1 for each grandchild. I’ve made other stockings, but this is by FAR the most beautiful! The detail is incredible, and the photos don’t capture it fully. I agree this is a LOT of work – allow plenty of time before Christmas (start this summer?) Also you should have some embroidery experience first – this is not for beginners! And I didn’t think the embroidery directions were all that easy to follow if you didn’t already know how to embroider. Call your local extension department to get help with that if needed. But the results were well worth the effort! A keepsake to hand down through the family for many years! Additional note: I’ve seen reviews for other products that say Bucilla has apparently started skimping on materials. I agree – on one of the stockings, I ran out of beads and thread. Since I had plenty left from the other kit, this wasn’t a problem for me – just note that apparently Bucilla is very cooperative with resupplying you if this happens. Just call the 800 number, don’t try to match the colors yourself. Also, note they’re serious about not stuffing the characters too much – I did on the first and it didn’t turn out quite as nice.
On the second stocking, I also substituted some purchased trims and pom-poms instead of some of the original stitching – it turned out even better!

- I love this product however I am a beginner and this product involves alot of embroidery. My only complaint is that I feel they did not include an adequate amount of embroidery thread and I had to go to hte craft store to purchase more.
Rating: 4 / 5 - My mother completed this stocking for my fourth child. It is so beautiful! She did say that this stocking was a lot of work compared to the ones she did for my other children. There is not one single sequin on it. Instead, all of the details are embroidered. However, the extra work is truly worth it (to me) as this stocking is adorable, and will be hung by the chimney with care for years to come!

I bought this item thinking that I would be sewing a few ornaments together and attaching the lights. You have to put EVERYTHING together. It’s a lot of work, but so far (I’m not yet finished) it’s very pretty and I think I’ll be proud to have something that I can take out every year for my little one that was made by me. I do wish they gave you more room to cut out the items on the felt though, as they are very close together and hard to get at.

Like the previous poster, I thought that it required some assembly. . . but in reality it is A LOT of work. Also, there are not enough supplies to finish it. I called the company and they are sending out what I needed, but it’s been over a week and I still don’t have the thread. And you have to buy your own batting and dowel rod with a finial to complete it, so it does not come with everything you need. I can’t wait until I’m done with it so I can use it. (Christmas is less than a week away!!!) I will definitely admire it when it’s done. It’s coming along nicely, and I know the kids will love it, so I think it’s worth all of the hard work.

I bought this stocking to make for my granddaughter’s first Christmas. I made stockings for both of my children back in the 1980’s. The finshed result of this stocking is absolutely beautiful but it probably took me 20+ hours to finish. It is so much more elaborate than the previous stockings that I did for my children. It is worth the time I put into it, but if you order this stocking, allow at least a few weeks to finish it.

I received this so quickly from Amazon. This snowman ‘Chef” turned out so cute. It wasn’t too difficult and I was able to personalize it and make it a very special gift from the heart.
